Not because I am interested in advanced astronomy, but because it would greatly enhance my nights of drinking beer and listening to [Pink Floyd](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magicos2) records. Now the [Universe House](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/over-the-counter-nfts) may not have the practical applications of an observatory, but the entire design of the home was based on a model of one built in Delhi. The Universe House, conceived by Gabriel Orozco, has a [swimming pool on the roof](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/malvern-pool-house) which is perfect for star searching during a late night swim. Just the fact that you can go for a dip *on top* of your home, nominates the Universe House to be the best place to live this die of the Milky Way. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 80% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Observatory-inspired Architecture:** Architects and designers can create homes and buildings that incorporate design elements from observatories or space travel to provide a unique and innovative experience. - **Multifunctional Design:** Designers and architects can incorporate multiple uses for different spaces within a home or building, such as a rooftop pool that can also function as an observatory or stargazing platform. - **Luxury Residential Design:** Design professionals can target the luxury residential market by incorporating high-end features such as rooftop pools, observatories, and other unique design elements into their projects. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Architecture firms can incorporate observatory-inspired design elements and multifunctional features into their projects to create unique and innovative buildings and homes that appeal to high-end clients. - **Real Estate:** Real estate developers and agencies can market homes and buildings that incorporate observatory-inspired design elements and multifunctional features to high-end buyers who are looking for unique and innovative living spaces. - **Home Improvement:** Home improvement companies can target high-end homeowners who are looking to upgrade their homes with features such as rooftop pools and observatories, or incorporate observatory-inspired design elements into their existing spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stars-Inspired Elliptical Planetariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planetarium-design.md) - [Shapeshifting Outer Space Hotels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acromnia-orbital-hotel.md) - [Constellation-Inspired Apartment Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-vasto.md) - [Glass-Reflective Illuminated Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisible-house.md) - [Celestial Lounge Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/venus-lounge.md) - [Smart Personal Observatory Telescopes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaonis-hyperia.md) - [Miniature Astronomy Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tiny-planetarium.md) - [Rooftop-Mounted Space Telescopes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/celestron-origin.md) - [Whimsical Futuristic Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yoohome.md)
