The ergonomically-designed plug-in allows people to easily plug in or extract it from their wall sockets by simply hooking their finger into the cut-out circle, as shown in the gallery above. It's perfect for individuals who have difficulty unplugging cords due to injury, illness or advanced age. The Universal Plug also features a reminder light on the inner edges of the circle which can act as a night light or serve as a reminder to unplug a given device to save energy. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.6/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Ergonomic Design:** Designing products with user-friendly and accessible features to accommodate various needs and abilities. - **Innovative Power and Socket Solutions:** Developing innovative solutions to improve access to power sources and enhance safety features. - **Smart Home Technology:** Creating technology that promotes the ability to connect, control, and optimize energy usage in the home. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Improvement:** Companies can create products that enhance the safety and accessibility of power sources and sockets for individuals with different needs. - **Elder Care:** Organizations can create products that promote independence and safety for older individuals or those with disabilities. - **Smart Home Technology:** Developers can design software and devices to provide users more control in managing energy and power devices within the home. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Accessible Power Cord Attachments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ipull.md) - [Rotating Outlet Power Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oconnect-onestep.md) - [Artfully Dynamic Power Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aunion.md) - [Child-Proof Outlet Guards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outletguard.md) - [Modular Power Strip Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodes.md) - [U-Shaped Power Strip Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/power-strip-2.md) - [Power Station Outlet Adapters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anker-powerextend-usbc-plug.md) - [Compact Universal Travel-Ready Adaptors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ta205.md) - [Power Strip Illuminated Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightbox-power-strip.md)
