"We believe that it’s possible to make a big statements with small scale projects," say Mads Lund and Robert Paulsen, the co-founders of MLPR. The strikingly angular residence was created in a way to make it look like it was growing out of the ground with its slanted design angles. Located in Copenhagen, '[Villa Bie](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-bo)' is full of interesting details like a [minimalist staircase](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-minimale) that was carved form the home's concrete foundation and square-like gaps filled with glass to ensure that residents on the inside always have unobstructed views to the surrounding lush greenery and azure blue waters. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 91% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sculptural Architecture:** The trend of using unique and artistic designs in architecture presents disruptive innovation opportunities in the construction industry. - **Minimalist Interiors:** The trend of minimalist interiors with unobstructed views opens up disruptive innovation opportunities in the interior design industry. - **Transforming Traditional Spaces:** The trend of transforming traditional buildings into modern and striking designs creates disruptive innovation opportunities in the architecture and renovation industries. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** The architecture industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities in creating unique and sculptural designs. - **Construction:** The construction industry can capitalize on the trend of sculptural architecture by developing innovative construction techniques and materials. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can find disruptive innovation opportunities in creating minimalist interiors with unobstructed views. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Monolithic Sleek Summer Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vollerup-atrium.md) - [Organic Coastal Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diachok-architects.md) - [Sculptural Inverted Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-house-with-an-inverted-roof.md) - [Coastal Terraced Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-bo.md) - [Footbridge-Inspired Hillside Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/villa-sidonius.md) - [Cliffside Minimalist Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aip-azia-villa.md) - [Nature-Merging Geometric Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neville-park-residence.md) - [Sculpted Oak Grove Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lj-residence.md) - [Sculptural Facade Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fractal-facade-house.md)
