This [high-tech door lock](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/myq-secure-view) turns your smartphone, or any Bluetooth-enabled device, into a door key. The door is a standard deadbolt that becomes disarmed when it detects the UniKey app in close proximity. Once the signal is detected, a user needs only to touch the lock to unlock it. The door can also be locked through the app. Unlocking a door with the [touch of a finger](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/desloc-b200) is awesome, but what makes the UniKey system even better is that [digital copies of a key](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/level-lock-pro) can be sent via text message. These keys can be put on a timer, and copies of the key can be revoked at any time. UniKey includes a physcial copy of the key with the system, just in case your phone becomes lost or damaged. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.7/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Bluetooth Door Locks:** The advancement of Bluetooth door locks revolutionizes the way people secure their homes and properties. - **Mobile Key Management:** Mobile key management enhances the security of properties while providing convenience to users. - **Smart Home Access Control:** Smart home access control provides convenience, security, and remote accessibility to homeowners. ### Where This Applies - **Home Security:** Home security companies can explore Bluetooth door locks and mobile key management solutions for their customers. - **Real Estate:** Real estate companies can offer Bluetooth door locks and smart home access control as a selling point for modern properties. - **Hospitality:** Hospitality businesses can implement Bluetooth door locks and mobile key management systems to enhance guest experiences and streamline operations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Smartphone-Centric Smart Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/schlage-encode-plus.md) - [Biometric Scanner Smart Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lockly-flex-touch.md) - [Home Smart Lock Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-smart-lock-system.md) - [Palm-Recognizing Smart Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-deadbolt.md) - [High-Tech Residential Security Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/residential-security-system.md) - [Intuitive Access Smart Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultraloq-latch-5.md) - [Fingerprint-Scanning Door Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wyze-lock-bolt.md) - [Quad-Access Connected Doorknobs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tcl-k1.md) - [Advanced Smart Home Locks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ubolt-wifi.md)
