# Refined Mdf Collections The Undressed Series by Georgina Davies Reveals a Quiet Beauty in Material By Amy Duong | Published 2025-10-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/undressed-series References: [georgegeorgegeorge.work](https://georgegeorgegeorge.work/) The Undressed series by Georgina Davies transforms medium-density fiberboard, a material often concealed in furniture design, into a statement of raw sophistication. Comprising a bookshelf, console, and nightstand, the collection exposes MDF’s inherent texture and tone rather than hiding it beneath [veneers or paint](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/layered-nature). Each piece is shaped through [precise geometry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-collection) and [balanced proportion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ratio-series), celebrating structure over embellishment. The result is furniture that feels architectural yet understated, allowing form and craftsmanship to define its visual language. Davies refines each surface with thin layers of shellac, creating a soft sheen that contrasts with the darkened edges left deliberately exposed. This treatment enhances the interplay between polish and rawness, demonstrating the potential of a material more commonly associated with utility. The Undressed series reframes perception through simplicity, showing how design can reveal elegance in the overlooked and transform function into quiet artistry.
