# Luxurious Nuclear Protected Bunkers This Underground Home Was Built to Survive War in Style By Sarah St.Jules | Published 2013-09-12 | Updated 2013-09-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/underground-home References: [psfk](http://www.psfk.com/2013/09/underground-bunker-home.html) & [reviewjournal](http://www.reviewjournal.com/view/downtown/underground-home-was-built-cold-war-era-hideaway) When one thinks of an underground home that has been created to withstand a [nuclear war](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cold-war-museum-regan-vest), images of dingy, dirty holes come to mind. However, this home in Las Vegas is the lap of luxury, and it's completely end of the world-proof. This home was built in the 1970s when the fear of a nuclear strike was real. The top of the property only has two bedrooms, however, the bunker is fully functional and dives 26 feet into the ground. The bunker has a [heated pool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/red-rock), a sauna, a dance floor and even a putting course. It is also two bedrooms, but there is plenty of space for more, and there are even decoration trees included so you won't miss the outside. This underground home may seem a little ridiculous, but if I had to live below ground, it would definitely be in a place like this. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.2/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Luxurious Nuclear Protected Bunkers:** Opportunity for luxury interior décor and amenities in nuclear-safe underground homes. ### Who This Affects Most - **Real Estate:** Emerging market for high-end underground properties that offer safety and luxury living. - **Interior Design:** Designing and furnishing nuclear-safe underground homes with upscale features and comfort. - **Security:** Providing advanced security measures and technologies for nuclear protected bunkers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dramatic Doomsday Bunker Images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alastair-philip-wiper.md) - [Underground Autonomous Shelter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plan-b-1.md) - [Excavated Underground Living Space](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hideaway-house.md) - [Bunker-Converted Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corstorphine-wright.md) - [Partially Buried Tranquil Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-under-the-ground.md) - [Fort-Inspired Retro Rotundas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fort-137.md) - [Hidden Resort Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stealth-1.md) - [Geometric Cave-Like Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cavelike-homes.md) - [Anticipatory Architectural Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vulcan-house.md)
