# Lunar Orb Installations Under the Influence by Tristin Lowe is an Interaction of Two Elements By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-06-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/under-the-influence References: [lustik.tumblr](http://lustik.tumblr.com/post/52222824666/under-the-influence-tristin-lowe-via-i-like) & [tristinlowe.org](http://www.tristinlowe.org/under-the-influence/c10ej) Composed of two separate pieces, the 'Under the Influence' [art installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch) by artist Tristin Lowe analyzes how extremely different elements interact with each other. The most noticeable component is the giant sphere sitting in the middle of the room, reaching almost from floor to ceiling. This giant moon-like sculpture with craters along its surface is called 'Lunacy,' a mysterious orb that brings an element of outer space to Earth. A strangely shaped array of fluorescent light casts an eerie blue glow on this sculpture, and thus we are introduced to the second component entitled 'Visither I.' The strange neon light serves to enhance the moon sculpture through light and shadow, thus completing the effect of the 'Under the Influence' installation. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.3/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 1% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Interactive Art Installations:** Opportunity to create art installations that analyze how extremely different elements interact with each other. - **Outer Space-inspired Art:** Opportunity to create art installations that bring an element of outer space to Earth. - **Light-enhanced Sculptures:** Opportunity to create sculptures that are enhanced through the use of lighting technology. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore these trends in interactive, space-inspired, light-enhanced installations and sculptures. - **Technology:** The technology industry can collaborate with artists to further develop lighting technologies that can enhance installations and sculptures. - **Tourism and Hospitality:** The tourism and hospitality industry can incorporate interactive art installations in their establishments to provide unique and memorable experiences for their guests. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Intricate Lighting Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-of-common-interest1.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Site Specific Mixed-Media Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamsphere.md) - [Forgotten Theme-Park Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forgotten-fantasy.md) - [Lunar-Based Rotating Pavilions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moon-pavilion.md) - [Celestial Sculptural Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-collection.md) - [Moon-Bound Architectural Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonhouse-project.md) - [Outdoor Light-Up Globes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moongarden.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fayetteville-to-the-moon.md)
