This [playful typography project](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-shape-of-play) encourages people to create fonts out of real life objects instead of virtual designs. Based out of New York, graphic designer Allison Supron organized a typographic experiment called Play that encourages people to explore their creativity.

By combining purpose-driven play and [typefaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/letter-pair), this experimental project dives into the creative process. According to Abduzeedo, the typography project is "a colorful mixture of [unconventional materials and techniques](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/times-new-ramen), hand-drawn typography, senior thesis paper tidbits and photographs of each process from start to finish."

With the intention to get people away from screens and off their computers, this boundary-pushing project literally gets hands dirty. From buttons to blocks of cheese and lit matches, the fonts are made out of a variety of unusual and unexpected items.
