TYIN Tegnestue Architects have completed the 'Arne Garborg' residence in Norway, which was an [extension to the existing house](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reciprocal-house).

People in the area are on both sides as to whether or not they approve of the addition. It's quite different than most add-ons, and even resembles a barn-like structure. The outside is made of pine, and not only does it extend the house horizontally, but vertically too in a wrap-around manner. Lines are not left perfectly straight either, with certain areas set in a sloping direction. While this may not be a conventional add-on, it definitely gives the single family who lives here everything that they were missing. Because the structure is that much taller, they now have an additional loft-style bedroom at the top of the abode, which is perfect for guests.
