The elongated house structure that borrows motifs from the American shotgun house -- "a type of long and narrow residence," offers two separate homes that are perfect for sizable families. The all-black structure is located in Los Maitenes, Chile. It is constructed by architect Alejandro Soffia and it features a tonal gabled roof, as well as a [dark timber exterior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shadow-barn).

The intensity and dominance, found in the black color, is a loud juxtaposition to the [surrounding natural landscape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kw-house). However, the choice of symmetry, geometric motifs and [monochromatic exterior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaulted-monochrome-haus) create a rather modern vibe to Alejandro Soffia's creation.

The two separate homes are unified by the architectural framework through a wooden narrow outdoor deck that "runs along one of the building's long sides."
