'Aamodt Plumb Architects' designed a modern home that is divided into two distinct wings. One of the advantages of [prefabricated homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-pod) is that they are easy to assemble. However, the predetermined structure does not always fit on a given property.

The 'Modern Texas Prefab' is a contemporary home located on the edge of a [scenic lake in Austin, Texas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jurumirim-house). Although the home was prefabricated, the architects would have needed to cut down a group of mature trees to complete the original design. In order to avoid felling the trees, the architects decided to split the home into two distinct wings. As a result, one half of the home is covered in [black-charred timber](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/texas-residence) and the other half is finished with white stucco. The division of the home provides scenic views of the lake and the surrounding trees.
