# Spiralling Book Installations Twisted Tales by Wary Meyers is Made for Whimsical Literature Lovers By Meghan Young | Published 2012-10-12 | Business Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-tales References: [mymodernmet](http://www.mymodernmet.com/profiles/blogs/wary-meyers-twisted-tales) & [warymeyers](http://www.warymeyers.com/warymeyerstwiste.html) The Twisted Tales art installation is sure to inspire a similar bookshelf in one way or another. Like the [invisible bookshelf](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teebooks-shelves), the Twisted Tales installation appears to involve books that can float in midair. Of course, the hardware is simply hidden behind the novels themselves. Yet this illusion feeds into the Bedknobs and Broomsticks and Harry Potter influence cited by the artists. As well as the Shakespeare quote, "shuffling off this mortal coil." Created by Linda and John Meyers of Wary Meyers, who have played with [books before](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-basement-stacks), the Twisted Tales installation pays homage to the late 19th century public library that was recently taken over and renovated by VIA Advertising Agency. Nevertheless, the historical ambiance has been maintained, which Twisted Tales beautifully complements. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Business](https://www.trendhunter.com/business) > [Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/books) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Floating Book Installations:** Exploring ways to create the illusion of floating books can lead to disruptive innovation in interior design and decor. - **Immersive Literary Experiences:** Developing interactive installations that pay homage to literature can revolutionize the way people engage with books and stories. - **Invisible Shelf Designs:** Designing shelves that are hidden from view can disrupt traditional home furnishing and inspire new storage solutions. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can embrace innovative floating book installations to create unique and captivating spaces. - **Art and Entertainment:** Exploring immersive literary experiences opens up opportunities for artists and entertainers to create immersive installations and exhibits. - **Furniture and Home Decor:** Designing invisible shelf solutions can transform the furniture and home decor industry, offering innovative storage options for consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Revolving Bright Kinetic Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-of-light.md) - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Twisting CGI-Designed Sideboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookscrew-sideboard.md) - [Sliding Wintery Landscape Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manhwabang-bookshelf.md) - [Provocative Banned Books Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/banned-books-jail.md) - [Sculptural Bookshelves Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bookshelf.md) - [Children's Story-Inspired Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/western-academy.md) - [Whimsical Theater-Themed Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-bookend.md) - [Open-Air Libraries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ikea-billyotheque.md)
