# Quirky Clamped Cubbies The Twist Me! Bookcase Encloses a Vice to Keep Your Novels From Tipping By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-01-10 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twist-me References: [mejdstudio](http://www.mejdstudio.com/?page=products&id=twist-me) There is absolutely no need for [bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wicked-bookend) with the Twist Me! bookshelf -- just take a look inside of it. This marvelously peculiar piece of furniture is the hybrid product of ready-made components that affords great practicality. Designed as part of the Lost & Found workshop by CA Flowers for Slovakia, this clever creation consists of a rectangular cubby that stands on four narrow legs. Inside of the compartment, you will see a pair of threaded wooden sticks. These penetrate the sides against timber nuts and have squared panels stuck to their inner ends. Because of the turned texture, the posts can be [screwed in and out](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-spinning-coffee-table) of MEJD Studio's Twist Me! Shelf. Push them all the way in to touch a row of novels, supporting them from toppling over. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.8/10 - Popularity: 82% | Activity: 85% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Flexible Bookshelves:** Innovative bookshelves with adjustable components to keep books upright without bookends. - **Modular Furniture:** Versatile furniture made of ready-made components that can be customized for different needs and purposes. - **Sustainable Design:** Eco-friendly furniture designs that use natural materials and emphasize practicality and functionality. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Opportunities to create unique, functional furniture pieces for customers who value practicality and aesthetics. - **Interior Design:** Innovative solutions for decorating small spaces and maximizing storage while maintaining a modern, minimalist look. - **Book Publishing:** Collaborations with furniture designers to create book-related merchandise that adds value to the reading experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Twisting Donut-Shaped Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hullabaloo-bookshelf.md) - [Book-Storing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookgroove-bookrack.md) - [Minimally Engineered Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firm-book-end.md) - [Twisted Wooden Boxed Sideboard](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deniz-aktay.md) - [Sculptural Bookshelves Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bookshelf.md) - [Expandable Bookcase Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burrow-index-bookcase.md) - [Video Game-Like Bookcases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tetris-bookcase.md) - [Personality-Enhancing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ordo-book.md) - [Compact Functional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table.md)
