Both homes have the same five basic design elements and geometric architectural elements. Creating houses that mirror one another is an innovative divergence away from homes that are built side-by-side. The Twin Houses offer similar elements in each conception with slight differences. However one distinct similarity is that both have dark toned exteriors that were chosen with intent to create a monochromatic landscape effect once snowfall hits the area. Other design parallels include minimalistic interiors, large floor to ceiling windows and a [modular aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/agni-modular). The homes offer an inviting contemporary space for winter vacationing. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.7/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 97% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modular Mirrored Homes:** The trend of creating houses that mirror one another presents an opportunity to redefine the concept of side-by-side homes. - **Geometric Architecture:** The trend of incorporating geometric architectural elements offers an opportunity to create visually striking and unique designs. - **Monochromatic Landscape Effects:** The trend of using dark toned exteriors to create a monochromatic landscape effect opens up possibilities for creating visually cohesive environments. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture & Construction:** The architectural industry can explore innovative construction methods and materials to cater to the trend of modular mirrored homes. - **Home Decor & Furnishing:** The home decor industry can capitalize on the trend of geometric architecture by offering furniture and decor pieces that complement such designs. - **Real Estate & Vacation Rentals:** The real estate industry can embrace the trend of monochromatic landscape effects to market and sell properties in snowy areas for winter vacationing. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multigenerational Modern Twin-Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-with-one-pillar.md) - [Dedicated-Space Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/two-sisters.md) - [Landscape-Integrated Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plener-istebna.md) - [Reflective Minimal Glamping Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alphaline.md) - [Sleek Modular German Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-anton-ii.md) - [Duplex-Appearing Home Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duplex-house.md) - [Dual Tonal Wooden Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/svart-hus.md) - [Contrasting Facade Panoramic Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/two-face-house.md) - [Black-Metal Angled Holiday Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shadow-box-house.md)
