Glossy black and bloody red dominate the avant-garde bathroom decor introduced for 2009 by market leader [Kaldewei](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/e15). The classic last-century look blends with bold modern strokes to produce a signature result of utter magnificence. The attention is inevitably drawn to the [stunning black oval tub](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aretusa-tub-by-claudio-papa), the freestanding *Ellipso Duo Oval*, which splashes a new sense on exclusivity with its mystique and elegance. The extravagant style is further revealed with the imposing *Piatto* shower. The flashy design features an exclusive cherry curtain surrounding a seemingly floating circular plate. Other colors and designs are also available to further enhance the dramatic effect, you can choose to embellish your suite with a fine 24-carat pure gold plating. The iconic decor seems to have escaped an Underworld scene and definitely evokes some [vampire presence](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colourpop-x-twilight). Still, its glamorous style gives us hope that it is probably the Twilight vegetarians that we will be encountering behind those silky curtains. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 83% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Avant-garde Bathroom Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Creating bold and unique bathroom designs that challenge traditional aesthetics. - **Black and Red Color Palette:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporating unconventional color choices into interior design to create a dramatic and impactful atmosphere. - **Exclusivity and Luxury:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Developing high-end bathroom fixtures and accessories that exude opulence for discerning customers. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionizing the way bathrooms are designed and decorated to offer unique and personalized experiences. - **Bathroom Fixtures Manufacture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introducing innovative materials and designs to create avant-garde bathroom fixtures that cater to modern tastes. - **Luxury Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Redefining luxury home decor by integrating unconventional elements that appeal to affluent consumers seeking exclusivity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sophisticated High-Design Bath Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soaking-tub.md) - [Luxe Translucent Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lusso-amore-freestanding-resin-bath.md) - [Ultra-Stylish Bathroom Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beauty-accessories.md) - [Museum-Like Bathroom Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/face-face-bathroom-collection.md) - [Collaborative Bathroom Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathroom-design2.md) - [Symmetrical Curved Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/victoria-alberts-barcelona-collection.md) - [Customizable Minimalist Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acquabella-noon-slate.md) - [Cutting-Edge Bathroom Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bathroom-design1.md) - [Hardwood Based Bathtubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beam-bathtub.md)
