# Branch-Inspired Benches The Twig Park Bench Sprouts From the Ground By Trenton Millar | Published 2012-08-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twig-park-bench References: [bornrich](http://www.bornrich.com/4800-twig-inspired-bench-kind-eco-friendly-furniture-artistic-taste.html) & [anthropologie](http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/index.jsp) Created by French sculptor Xavier Dumont, this twig park bench is an artistic example of [eco-friendly furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roots-collection-1). The bench is one-of-a-kind and crafted by hand. Dumont used marble powder, [resin and metal](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cresta) as the materials to create this whimsical outdoor seating. The twig park bench appears as though it sprouted from the ground. Despite its metal-looking finish, the bench looks incredibly organic, as if it turned to steel through some type of natural process. The twig park bench is on display at the [Anthropologie's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/farm-rios) gallery at the Rockefeller Center in New York City. It will remain on display until September 27, 2012. Priced at $4,800, this bench is an investment not only in a piece of furniture, but also a piece of art. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.1/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Eco-friendly Furniture:** Opportunity to create functional pieces that are sustainable and eco-friendly. - **Artistic Outdoor Seating:** Opportunity to create visually appealing, artistic outdoor seating that can also function as a practical piece of furniture. - **Organic-inspired Design:** Opportunity to design furniture that has an organic, nature-inspired look and feel. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Opportunity to create unique, high-end eco-friendly furniture pieces. - **Outdoor Furniture Retail:** Opportunity to offer unique, artistic outdoor seating options to customers. - **Art Galleries:** Opportunity to display and sell eco-friendly furniture pieces as art. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature-Inspired Structured Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twig-seating.md) - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Threshold Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torii.md) - [Elegantly Airy Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arch-bench.md) - [Cocoon-Inspired Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gandan-bench.md) - [Sprouting Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wood-chair-on-grass.md) - [Sustainable Paper-Infused Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/detalji-bench.md) - [Ring-Shaped Forest Blenches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nesting-loops.md) - [Sculptural Gravity Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench.md)
