# Crocheted Tortoise Cozies Turtle Yard Finder Ensures Owners Never Lose Their Roaming Reptiles By Meghan Young | Published 2013-04-02 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/turtle-yard-finder References: [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2013/04/02/Crocheted-Tortoise-Cozies/) & [etsy](http://www.etsy.com/shop/MossyTortoise) The [Turtle Yard Finder](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/turtle-splash) is made for people who not only own a pet turtle or tortoise, but who allow them to roam around freely outdoors on nice summer days. Because of their green-colored shells, it can be hard to spot them on the lawn, which could lead to loss or something worse. These cute [crocheted cosies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crochet-patterns) are brightly colored to make them easily spottable. Created by [Etsy](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floof-snuggle-sack-and-floor-pillow) user Katie Bradley, who is based in Vancouver, Washington, the Turtle Yard Finder could be likened to dog coats. Available in a variety of vibrant hues and fun designs, it comes with a stretchy band to compensate for the reptile's growth. Bradley does clarify, "This is meant as a 'for fun' tortoise accessory to use occasionally, and does not substitute good husbandry." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.1/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Pet Accessory Fashion:** There is an opportunity to disrupt the pet accessory fashion industry with new designs that are both practical and stylish. - **Smart Pet Tracking:** Smart pet tracking devices and systems could be developed to help pet owners keep track of their roaming pets. - **Eco-friendly Pet Products:** Creating eco-friendly pet products, such as biodegradable pet accessories, could be a disruptive innovation in the pet industry. ### Who This Affects Most - **Pet Industry:** The pet industry could benefit from the development of new pet accessories and tracking systems. - **Handmade Goods Industry:** The handmade goods industry could see a rise in demand for unique and trendy pet accessories, such as crocheted cozies. - **Eco-friendly Products Industry:** The eco-friendly products industry could expand into the pet market with biodegradable and sustainable pet product options. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tortoise-Saving Glasses Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/save-the-tortoise-collection.md) - [Tortilla Throw Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tortilla-throw-blanket.md) - [Playful Crochet Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crochet-collection.md) - [Animated Turtle Clothing Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sheins-teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles.md) - [Sculptural Ceramic Tableware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/office-of-tangible-spaces.md) - [All-in-One Splash Pads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/turtle-splash-and-bubbles.md) - [Children Meditation Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kids-meditation-turtle.md) - [Comforting Plush Collectibles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cloudheads.md) - [Cat-Tracking Collars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tile-for-cats.md)
