# Swimming Turtle Toys This Little Live Pets Toy Comes to Life on Land and in Water By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2016-02-18 | Life-Stages Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/turtle-toy References: [moosetoys](http://www.moosetoys.com/products/little-live-pets-s2-lil-turtle-tank) Just like the real animal, this battery-powered turtle toy from [Moose Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mama-surprise) is capable of quickly swimming in water and slowly walking on land. As well as moving like a real turtle, the toy is just about the right size as a small turtle, which makes interactions seem even more believable. Starry the blue turtle is the limited-edition toy that's sold as part of the complete tank set, but Moose Toys also sells four other decorated themed toys, like Sea Princess and Robo-Turtle, as part of separate individual toy packages. When the turtle toy is not being stored in the [Lil' Turtle Tank](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lil-dude-wipes), the swimming toy could be introduced to bathtubs, pools and other small bodies of water where the toy can easily be retrieved. This is a charming toy that has the potential to amuse kids on many hot summer days. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.4/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 32% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Life-Stages](https://www.trendhunter.com/life-stages) > [Youth](https://www.trendhunter.com/youth) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Battery-powered Animal Toys:** There is an opportunity to create more battery-powered animal toys that can mimic real-life movements in water and on land. - **Realistic Interactions:** Designing toys that are the right size and have realistic movements can enhance the believability and engagement for children. - **Water-friendly Toys:** Developing toys that can be safely introduced to water environments like bathtubs and pools can provide additional play opportunities for kids. ### Who This Affects Most - **Toy Manufacturing:** Toy manufacturers can explore the creation of battery-powered animal toys with realistic movements to cater to children's fascination with animals. - **Aquatic Toys:** The development of water-friendly toys can open up a niche market for toys that can be enjoyed both in and out of water. - **Entertainment and Leisure:** The entertainment industry can leverage realistic and engaging toys to provide children with more immersive play experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Innovative Outdoor Play Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/turtle-splash.md) - [Hatching Duck Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mama-duck-surprise.md) - [Programmable Pocket-Sized Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kt2-kungfu-turtle.md) - [Self-Dock Aquatic Robot Technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roboturtle.md) - [Aquatic Amphibian Children's Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tacos-frog.md) - [Baby-Friendly Motorized Boats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-friendly-motorized-boats.md) - [Insect-Inspired Science Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hatch-a-butterfly.md) - [Waterless Fish Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhu-zhu-aquarium.md) - [Interactive Puppy Playsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-puppys-home.md)
