The bag is embedded with green LEDs that form directional arrows, alerting surrounding drivers and other cyclists to the riders' intentions. The arrow on the Turn Signal Commuter Backpack is controlled via a small device riders attach to their handlebars. The controller has simple, intuitive buttons for selecting a right turn, a left turn, or a stop, and the bag displays a forward arrow the rest of the time. The backpack also comes with an [integrated brake sensor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bryton-gardia-r300l), so it will automatically flash red when cyclists stop suddenly, even they didn't have time to react and press the stop button. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.5/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Smart Commuter Accessories:** There is a growing trend of creating smart accessories for commuters that enhance safety and visibility. - **Embedded LED Technology:** Embedded LED technology is being used to create innovative products that enhance visibility and communication. - **Intuitive Control Devices:** Intuitive control devices are being developed to provide seamless user experience and convenience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Cycling Accessories:** The cycling accessories industry can explore incorporating embedded LED technology to create smart products that enhance safety and visibility for cyclists. - **Wearable Technology:** The wearable technology industry can tap into the trend of creating smart commuter accessories that use embedded LED technology to improve safety and visibility. - **Smart Transportation:** The smart transportation industry can adopt the use of intuitive control devices to enhance communication and safety between cyclists and other road users. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Gesture-Controlled Turn Signal Armbands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flasher-armbands.md) - [Tech-Enhanced Safety Bike Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rear-bike-light.md) - [Airbag-Deploying Travel Backpacks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stan-airbag.md) - [Commuter-Focused Reflected Bag Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflected-bag.md) - [Cyclist Safety Light Projectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-safety-device.md) - [Omnidirectional Bike Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vis-lightpool-taillight.md) - [Synced Bike Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bike-light-system.md) - [Airbag Cyclist Safety Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aerobag-system.md) - [Tech-Visible Bike Reflectors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/radian-wingman.md)
