You probably won't find these lights in the typical modern home, but that's okay, because these aren't your typical lights. Tumbleweeds are synonymous with old western environments, typically a 21st century home would not be the place for one. These lights break that mold as they are a [beautiful piece of modern design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nova-pendant-light) without losing the old western touch they are known for. Designer Jean Landry proves the point that the wild wild west is very much alive and well with this piece. The tumbleweed itself covers the actual light fixture as if draped over top of it. The design is not complex and for good reason; the simplicity of having just the tumbleweed, bulb and plug makes the point very well. Had more been incorporated to the design, it could have made the design tacky. This tumbleweed finds perfect balance between chic and rugged. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.2/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Rugged Tumbleweed Lights:** The trend of incorporating rugged tumbleweed aesthetics into modern lighting designs opens up opportunities for unique and distinctive home decor products. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Lighting Design:** The lighting design industry can explore innovative ways to incorporate natural elements, such as tumbleweeds, into their products, creating a niche market for rustic and unconventional lighting options. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can tap into the trend of rugged tumbleweed lights to offer customers a unique blend of modern design and rustic aesthetics, providing a new way to bring a touch of the wild west into their homes. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can leverage the trend of rugged tumbleweed lights to create visually striking and unexpected design elements that add character and a sense of adventure to living spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Illusory Modernist Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/teline-collection-by-kelly-wearstler.md) - [Tornado-Inspired Illuminator Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storm-lamp.md) - [Demure Dual-Function Hanging Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-fixture-planter.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Otherworldly Lighting Fixture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/otherworldly-lighting-fixture.md) - [Brutalist Bedside Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vestige-lamp.md) - [Minimal Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp.md) - [Eclipse-Inspired Whimsical Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/space-traveler.md) - [Spinning Top-Inspired Light Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trottola.md)
