Instead, its flower-inspired shape was adopted purely for practicality's sake. It brings a higher level of intelligence to portable outdoor lighting with a simple design. Like the [SnowMiner headlamp](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snow-peak-snowminer), the Tulip Lantern is capable of emitting either a focused or broad stream of light, depending on the situation. Unlike the headlamp, this option is controlled by gravity. When hung, the Tulip Lantern switches from using a direct and narrow beam to shed a more ambient glow. Designed by [Snow Peak](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snow-peak-gigapower-battery), which develops intuitive and aesthetically-pleasing backpacking gear and accessories, the Tulip Lantern boasts a pliable, snake-like stem that allows for further adjustment. It produces up to 250 lumens with more than 100 hours of battery life. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Sports](https://www.trendhunter.com/sports) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Intelligent Outdoor Lighting:** The Tulip Lantern brings a higher level of intelligence to portable outdoor lighting with its gravity-controlled design. - **Adjustable Lighting Options:** The Tulip Lantern's pliable stem and ability to emit either a focused or broad stream of light offer adjustable lighting options for different situations. - **Extended Battery Life:** With over 100 hours of battery life, the Tulip Lantern provides long-lasting illumination for outdoor activities. ### Where This Applies - **Outdoor Gear and Accessories:** The gravity-controlled lamps present a disruptive innovation opportunity for manufacturers in the outdoor gear and accessories industry. - **Lighting Technology:** The adjustable lighting options of the Tulip Lantern open up disruptive innovation opportunities in the lighting technology industry. - **Portable Lighting Solutions:** The Tulip Lantern's extended battery life makes it an innovative solution for the portable lighting industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Telescoping Outdoor Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/devos-outdoor-lightranger.md) - [Palm-Sized Outdoor Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/biolite-alpenglow-mini.md) - [Flickering Candle-Inspired Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebo-big-poppy.md) - [Telescoping Campsite Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outask-telescopic-lantern.md) - [Vintage-Inspired Camping Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/max-lantern.md) - [Fireplace-Inspired Campsite Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leacco-camping-lantern.md) - [Adaptable Campsite Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beyondop-led-camping-lantern.md) - [Outdoor Lantern Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camping-lantern-1.md) - [Portable Telescopic Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/outask.md)
