# Boxy Flower-Inspired Lighting The Tulip Lamp by Maria Ovchinnikova is Simple and Versatile By Meghan Young | Published 2013-01-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tulip-lamp References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2013/01/10/abstracted-flower-inspired-lamp/) The inspiration behind the Tulip Lamp may be self-evident from its title, but there is something suspiciously [Pantone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pantone-capsule-signature) about it as well. From the solid blocks of color preceded by a 'strip' of white, the Tulip Lamp could have easily been modeled after a Pantone color chip. Either way, it is a [modern and stylish light fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp) that would brighten up anyone's home. Designed by Maria Ovchinnikova, the Tulip Lamp is quite versatile. Although it can easily be set on the floor or on a table, the Tulip Lamp has small single protrusions on each side that can be utilized as hooks if a person wants to convert it into a pendent light. Available in two sizes, the Tulip Lamp comes in [different colors including orange and grey](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-lamp) as well as a natural wood. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Flower-inspired Lighting:** Opportunity for creating unique and aesthetically pleasing lighting fixtures inspired by nature. - **Versatile Light Fixtures:** Opportunity to design lighting fixtures that can be used in multiple ways, providing flexibility for different spaces. - **Colorful Statement Lighting:** Opportunity for creating eye-catching lighting fixtures that incorporate bold and vibrant colors. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor companies to offer unique and visually appealing lighting options. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for designers to incorporate versatile lighting fixtures into their projects, enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of spaces. - **Lighting Design:** Opportunity for lighting designers to experiment with bold colors and innovative forms to create statement lighting fixtures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Petal-Inspired Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bloom-wall-light.md) - [Flower-Like Portable Lanterns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tulit-led-lantern.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humble-lights.md) - [Award-Winning Colorful Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/u-table-lamp.md) - [Playful Table Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toto-lamp.md) - [Floral Lighting Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pivoine.md) - [Organically Shaped Smart Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flourish-table-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Glass Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuloa.md) - [Miniature Portable Ambiant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blossi.md)
