# Foldable Tripod Seating The Handy TUBO Folding Stool by Jose Ignacio Martinez By Meghan Young | Published 2010-05-05 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tubo-folding-stool References: [thedesignblog.org](http://www.thedesignblog.org/entry/tubo-folding-stool-optimizes-space-storage-and-transportation/) Although the surface of the TUBO Folding Stool may look suspiciously like a tripod due not only to its shape, but also to its folding capabilities, it is in fact a portable seat. Created by Argentine designer Jose Ignacio Martinez, the TUBO Folding Stool offers a simple and safe way for abrupt rest while on the go. At the push of a button, it unfolds or folds back up. Made out of PCV and rubber, it is sturdy and, more importantly, comfortable. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Portable Seating:** Design portable seating options that are easy to transport and comfortable for quick on-the-go rest. - **Foldable Furniture:** Create furniture that can easily fold and unfold for convenience, taking up minimal space when not in use. - **Ergonomic Design:** Incorporate ergonomic design elements into portable seating to offer comfort and minimize strain on the body. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Outdoor Gear:** Develop portable seating options specifically for outdoors enthusiasts who need lightweight and durable seating options. - **Travel and Tourism:** Design portable seating options for travelers, whether at an airport or on long train or car rides, to offer comfortable and convenient rest options. - **Event Planning:** Consider offering foldable seating options for event planners who need to set up and break down seating quickly and easily, without sacrificing comfort for guests. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Collapsible Recycled Bottle Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sustainable-folding-stool.md) - [Collapsible Posture Support Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ergonomic-portable-seat.md) - [Compact Foldable Camping Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-lander.md) - [Tripod-Paired Standing Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intension-design-tripod-standing-desk-pro.md) - [Interlocking Wooden Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tie-stool.md) - [Dual-Purpose Camping Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-a.md) - [DIY Flatpack Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/that-stool.md) - [Multifunctional Park Picnic Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-picnic-furniture.md) - [Compact Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-1.md)
