# Bent Tubular Chairs The Big-Game Bold Tube Chair Has a Surreal Aesthetic By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2017-01-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tube-chair References: [thegadgetflow](http://thegadgetflow.com/portfolio/bold-tubular-chair-big-game/) & [moustache.fr](http://www.moustache.fr/en/chaises/2-chaise-bold.html?utm_source=TheGadgetFlow&utm_campaign=TheGadgetFlow&utm_medium=TheGadgetFlow&utm_content=TheGadgetFlow) Available in a wide array of bold colors, the Big-Game Bold Tube Chair is a surrealist piece of home decor furniture that is far different than what has come to be expected when it comes to chair design. Instead of featuring a flat surface for a person to sit on, the chair consists of two long sections of tubing that have been bent and shaped in order to form the seating section and the back and legs. The Big-Game Bold Tube Chair consists of a sturdy steel assembly that has been covered in polyurethane foam in order to add a touch of softness to the otherwise rigid statement seat. The design of the chair takes on a somewhat cartoonish aesthetic that makes it suitable for placement in a playroom or even a formal dining room, depending on preference and style. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 87% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Bold Colors in Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop new furniture designs that incorporate bold colors to create unique and vibrant home decor pieces. - **Surrealist Aesthetic in Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore unconventional forms and designs in furniture, drawing inspiration from surrealist art to create visually striking and unconventional pieces. - **Alternative Seating Designs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Challenge traditional chair design by creating alternative seating options that prioritize comfort, durability, and aesthetic appeal. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce innovative designs and materials to transform the home decor industry, creating unique and visually appealing products for consumers. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new manufacturing techniques and materials to revolutionize the furniture industry, providing customers with innovative and stylish seating options. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Incorporate unconventional and artistic furniture pieces into interior design projects, creating spaces that push boundaries and challenge traditional aesthetics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Human Form-Inspired Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tube-collection.md) - [Tubular Organic-Formed Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loopy-chair.md) - [Bended Tubular Chair-Table Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wire-chair-concept.md) - [Metallic Tubular Minimal Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tone-chair.md) - [Deco-Inspired Chunky Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mt-curve-big-chair.md) - [Playful Recycled Aluminum Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tuba-chair.md) - [Legless Floor Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bold-chair.md) - [Bungee Cord Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tcord-chair.md) - [Cuvaceous Lined Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rita-arm-chair.md)
