# Beautifully Boxed Illuminators The Trunk to Think Light is Oversized and Offers Unique Lighting By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2013-04-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/trunk-to-think-light References: [notcot.org](http://www.notcot.org/post/53531/) & [trunktothink.bigcartel](http://trunktothink.bigcartel.com/product/light) When we think of lighting for the home, the first thing that might come to mind is a [ceiling fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/juba-tl1-table-lamp) or a [traditional lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp), but the Trunk to Think Light is anything but these two familiar images. The Trunk to Think Light is crafted from a crate and acts more like a subwoofer than a way to illuminate a room. The creation can be [placed on the floor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corium-standing-floor-lamp) or on a table depending on the level of intensity desired. Putting it on the floor creates an almost ambient form of illumination and is definitely my favorite option by far. We light our spaces in a very utilitarian manner because that's how it has been done for so long, but options like the Trunk to Think Light switch up our perceptions of how we can choose to illuminate and give us an idea of how to light in a more organic fashion. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Unique Lighting Solutions:** The Trunk to Think Light offers a unique and organic way to illuminate spaces, disrupting traditional lighting options. - **Rethinking Home Lighting:** The Trunk to Think Light challenges the conventional idea of ceiling fixtures and lamps, prompting a reimagining of how to light our homes. - **Ambient Illumination:** Placing the Trunk to Think Light on the floor creates an ambient and atmospheric lighting option, creating a new trend in home lighting. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** The Trunk to Think Light presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for interior designers to offer unique lighting solutions to their clients. - **Home Furnishings:** The Trunk to Think Light introduces a new category of lighting products, opening up opportunities for home furnishing companies to create innovative and stylish illuminators. - **Lighting Technology:** The Trunk to Think Light showcases a different approach to lighting design, inspiring the lighting technology industry to explore new and unconventional lighting solutions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Minimalist Museum-Quality Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artifox-table-light.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Comprehensive Home Illumination Collectons](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-illumination.md) - [Demure Dual-Function Hanging Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-fixture-planter.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Nature-Inspired Living Space Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moonlight-floor-lamp.md) - [Conical Multifunctional Lamp Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-table-light.md)
