# Standalone Copper Washbasins The Tropfen Washbasin is Both Elegant and Luxurious By Ell Smith | Published 2017-07-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tropfen-washbasin References: [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/30715207/Tropfen) & [mateuszsipiora](http://www.mateuszsipiora.com/) The Tropfen washbasin serves as an example that one simple home decor element can effortlessly create an atmosphere of lavish luxury. With the influx of smart technology, basic and functional bathroom accessories, like the sink, are often overlooked. To combat this, a gorgeous [free-standing fixture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bezel-collection) that features a multi-level pedestal to comfortably fit under a tap was created. The lower bowl serves as means of storage, containing towels, lotion or soap, while the upper bowel catches excess water. The fixture itself is comprised of [copper pipes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/faro-mixer) and [ceramic basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luneup), which add notes of delicacy and structure to any kitchen or bathroom. This beautiful high-end design would appeal to lovers of simple and elegant home design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Luxury Copper Fixtures:** The trend towards creating high-end standalone fixtures with unique materials and design could disrupt the home decor industry. - **Multi-level Pedestals:** The idea of adding storage and functionality to standalone bathroom fixtures presents innovation opportunities for both the home decor and plumbing industries. - **Delicate Copper-ceramic Combinations:** The combination of copper pipes and ceramic basins could inspire businesses to explore new ways of pairing seemingly opposite materials in innovative products. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** The Tropfen washbasin showcases the potential for creating standalone, high-end pieces that can elevate the look and feel of a space. - **Plumbing:** The creation of a multi-level pedestal for bathroom fixtures presents an opportunity for companies to explore new ways of adding functionality and design to traditional plumbing products. - **Materials:** The innovative combination of copper pipes and ceramic basins in the Tropfen washbasin demonstrates the possibilities of pairing different materials to create unique and visually appealing products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ultra-Modern Freestanding Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/freestanding-sink.md) - [Collaborative Seashell-Like Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spire-washbasin.md) - [Tech-Equipped Kitchen Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-kitchen-sink.md) - [Marble Slab Washbasins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piano-washbasin.md) - [Angular Ceramic Sink Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/angle-washbasin.md) - [Sophisticated High-Design Bath Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soaking-tub.md) - [Playful Concrete Wash Basins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kast-wave-collection.md) - [Reinventive Modern Kitchen Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luxury-kitchen.md) - [Illuminated Base Bathroom Sinks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antoniolupi-albumelux.md)
