The tool was designed by Dominic Siguang Ma in collaboration with [firefighters and rescue specialists](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firedrone-by-empa), and works by offering workers a secure solution for wading through water to help those in trouble. The pole can then be transformed into a lifesaving solution that will offer those in danger a helping hand up to eight feet away. The 'Trident' lifesaver tool is crafted almost entirely from fiberglass to ensure a durable and lightweight design, while the telescoping pole allows for easy storage. The tool was developed in response to the need for [aquatic lifesaving equipment](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/public-safety-initiative) amidst increasingly powerful storms and [rising sea levels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breathing-sea-wall). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 54% | Activity: 46% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Social Good](https://www.trendhunter.com/socialgood) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Climate-rescue Tools for Emergency Workers:** Creating innovative solutions for emergency workers to enhance search and rescue efforts during natural disasters. - **Fiberglass Material for Improved Durability:** Utilizing fiberglass materials in the design of rescue tools to create more lightweight and durable equipment. - **Telescoping Poles for Easy Storage:** Integrating telescoping poles into rescue tool designs to offer easy storage and accessibility for emergency workers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Disaster Relief:** Opportunities for growth in the development and design of advanced rescue tools for emergency workers to enhance disaster relief efforts. - **Construction and Manufacturing:** Companies can integrate fiberglass materials into their designs to create durable equipment, including rescue tools. - **Outdoor and Sporting Goods:** Manufacturing of telescoping poles and other outdoor equipment for easy storage and accessibility can be adapted for emergency response purposes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [In-House Fire Prevention Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fire-fighter.md) - [Lifesaving Swimming Vests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swimming-vest.md) - [Danger-Embracing Underwater Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dangerembracing-underwater-drones.md) - [Next-Gen Wildfire Rescue Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firefly-x01-fire-rescue-drone.md) - [Inflatable Rescue Stretchers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-rescue-stretcher.md) - [Micro Metallic Multitools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/titanium-fire-starter-and-multitool.md) - [Self-Surfacing Fishing Traps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ropeless-riser.md) - [Flatpack Oceanic Lifeboats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fold-and-rescue-lifeboat.md) - [Plastic Bottle Lifejackets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bot-lifejacket.md)
