# Three-Sided Sound Systems The TRIA Speaker Emits Your Music at Different Angles By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-01-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tria-speaker References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/product/2014/01/Triangles.html) & [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/TRIA-Speaker/13633839) The device may be small, but this should not take away from the effectiveness of the [TRIA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frederic-chopin) Speaker; arguably, this feature enhances it. Designed by Dongsung Jung, this little sound system is intended to be portable, yet it also boasts the ability to deliver your audio entertainment in two directions. Steel and plastic would be used as the primary materials in the production of this electronic concept. With everything manufactured and finished in black, the resultant gadget looks slick and minimalist. This monochromatic treatment helps to reinforce the purist geometric quality of the bluetooth TRIA Speaker. The triangular prism is crisp, clean and reduced in appearance, demonstrating the great shift that devices have undergone from the days of bulky cases and tangled cords. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.9/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Portable Sound Systems:** The trend of compact, portable sound systems like the TRIA Speaker is disrupting the audio industry by providing on-the-go entertainment. - **Directional Audio:** The trend of sound systems delivering audio in multiple directions, as seen in the TRIA Speaker, creates immersive listening experiences and opportunities for enhanced audio engagement. - **Minimalist Design:** The trend of sleek, minimalist design in electronic devices, exemplified by the TRIA Speaker, offers disruptive innovation opportunities for aesthetically pleasing and functional audio solutions. ### Who This Affects Most - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can leverage the trend of portable sound systems like the TRIA Speaker to develop innovative, compact audio products for consumers. - **Audio Technology:** The audio technology industry can explore the trend of directional audio, as showcased by the TRIA Speaker, to advance immersive sound experiences and create new audio solutions. - **Product Design:** The product design industry can incorporate the trend of minimalist design, as exemplified by the TRIA Speaker, to develop visually appealing and user-friendly electronic devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Adaptable Smart Speaker Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/divid-smart-speaker-concept.md) - [Rolling Pentagonal Speaker Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-speaker-concept.md) - [Geometric Two-Part Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-bluetooth-speaker-design.md) - [Geometric Foldable Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pentatonic-1.md) - [Two-in-One Speaker Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/one-plus-bluetooth-speaker.md) - [Minimalist Metallic Speaker Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suono-bluetooth-speaker.md) - [Sculptural Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sonique.md) - [Angular Bluetooth Stereo Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bluetooth-stereo-speaker.md) - [Ultra-Thin Chromatic Speaker Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diyr-speaker.md)
