# Compartmentalized Domestic Bins The TRI3 Trash Can Helps Responsibly Separate Household Waste By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-09-24 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tri3 References: [constanceguisset](http://www.constanceguisset.com/index.php?/objet/tri3/) The average home does not have the luxury of many empty spaces, making it difficult to carry out a convenient [waste disposal system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tronco) that puts every scrap in its proper place. The TRI3 garbage can is a clever concept that's compact and organized, keeping your home clean and your domestic practices eco-friendly. Constance Guisset gave her rubbish bin four separate compartments. The upper canister has a pedal-operated flip-up lid and stores general waste matter; tucked into the side of this is a small garbage bag dispenser. The middle tier swings outwards to accept [packing materials like paper and plastic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tech-take-back-box), while the base tilts forwards to take [glass bottles and jars for recycling](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/binko-recycling-machine). Within the TRI3's very small footprint, you can collect a few items before a trip to the chute, dumpster or garage is necessary. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 86% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Eco-friendly Waste Management:** The TRI3 trash can offers a compact and organized solution for eco-friendly waste separation at home. - **Convenient Household Waste Disposal:** The compartmentalized design of the TRI3 garbage can allows for convenient disposal of different types of waste in one place. - **Space-saving Waste Solutions:** The small footprint of the TRI3 bin provides a space-saving solution for efficient waste management in small homes. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Organization and Storage:** The TRI3 trash can presents an opportunity for companies in the home organization and storage industry to create innovative waste management solutions. - **Sustainable Product Design:** The design of the TRI3 garbage can opens up opportunities for companies in the sustainable product design industry to develop eco-friendly waste disposal solutions. - **Recycling and Waste Management:** The compartmentalized bin concept of the TRI3 offers potential for disruptive innovation in the recycling and waste management industry by streamlining the waste separation process. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Chic Utilitarian Trash Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carden-the-twin.md) - [Modular Trash Organization Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sortmate-trash-cans.md) - [Modular Organization Garbage Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kitchen-garbage-bins.md) - [Tipping Trash Can Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/niko-trash-bin.md) - [Versatile Egg-Shaped Waste Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nextgen-waste-bin.md) - [Rodent-Preventative Trash Bins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/group-project.md) - [Sustainably Constructed Garbage Cans](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rubbish-bin.md) - [Three-Compartment Meal Trays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/threecompartment-tray.md) - [Electric Food Recyclers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foodcycler-eco-3.md)
