More and more I see cities amping up pedestrian safety by introducing more [traffic lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/traffic-light-bench), more sidewalks and more overpasses like the Trestles Beach footbridge. This caution call to arms is encouraging on an environmental level as well. By implementing more and more eco-friendly traveling options, our planet will be the better for it.

Designed by Winchester-based Dan Brill Architects, the Trestles Beach footbridge an entry for the Safe Trestles competition put together by [Architecture for Humanity](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cultural-space). Made out of [steel plates and timber](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baker-creek-pavilion), it is a good-looking structure that requires minimal maintenance.
