Designed by Ryan Yeung, the device works by having users press the incorporated button and [record their message](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stream-ring) to friends or family. From here, the recipient will be prompted to listen to the message through a blinking light and respond in kind with a voice note of their own. The 'Treehole' is inspired by the folklore of tree holes that encourage those who pass by one to whisper their [deepest secrets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frompast) into them where they'll live forever in safety. The device takes this tale into account through the operation and the actual design of the unit. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Digital Message-sharing Devices:** Opportunity for innovative messaging devices that allow users to share messages with loved ones. - **Conceptual Communication Devices:** Potential for disruptive innovation in communication devices that incorporate unique design and functionality. - **Voice-based Interactions:** Growing trend of voice-based communication that enables users to interact with messaging devices through spoken commands. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in designing and manufacturing digital message-sharing devices for the consumer electronics industry. - **Gift and Novelty:** Opportunities for creating unique and charming products like the 'Treehole' for the gift and novelty industry. - **Smart Home Technology:** Potential for integrating digital message-sharing devices into smart home systems for enhanced communication and connectivity. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [AR-Enabled Messaging Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ar-message-concept.md) - [Celebrity Communication Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vibling.md) - [WFH Communication Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-communication-device.md) - [Child-Friendly Voice Messengers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/karri.md) - [Music-Sharing Transmitted Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soundmotion.md) - [Intimacy-Encouraging Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nightingale-mood-speaker.md) - [Connected Communicative Tea Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gptea-set.md) - [Invigorating Speaker Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/audio-and-visual-device.md) - [Digital Interaction Planters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/planta-planter.md)
