Talented painter Alison Moritsugu transforms chopped down tree trunks into beautiful works of art by adding illustrations to the base of the log. The images capture hyper-realistic landscapes while highlighting the aesthetic of the wood.

Moritsugu hails from New York where she finds the time to [repurpose wood into art canvases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hughmanity). The pieces are made using [naturally fallen logs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1) that Moritsugu finds within the landscapes she wants to paint adding another meta layer of realism to the images. From there she uses the ends of the logs to create breathtaking pantings of the space featuring forest area, mountains, lakes and rivers in a beautifully detailed style. The organic cracks of the wood shine through the paintings adding a natural quality to the work.
