The Tree Stump Speaker is a [speaker system for MP3 players](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aura-speaker) designed to look like a permanently trimmed tree of the stumpy variety. The Tree Stump Speaker has two stumps, both of which are actually [4-inch speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/node-atom). The sound coming out of the speakers is controlled by a circular controller hidden in the tree. The Tree Stump Speaker also comes in a mountable version that looks a lot more realistic and is easily my favorite of the two versions. The only knock against this design is its lack of a physical dock. The Tree Stump Speaker can only be connected to devices via a 3.5 mm cable that plugs into audio jacks. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 52% | Activity: 36% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Natural Design Speakers:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for companies to create speaker systems with unique natural designs. - **Hidden Controls:** Opportunity for innovation in speaker systems by incorporating hidden control mechanisms. - **Mountable Speaker Systems:** Potential for companies to develop mountable speaker systems with realistic designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Consumer Electronics:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the consumer electronics industry to create unique speaker designs. - **Home Decor:** Potential for innovation in the home decor industry by incorporating speaker systems with natural designs. - **Audio Accessories:** Opportunity for companies in the audio accessories industry to create mountable speaker systems with realistic designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tree-Inspired Speaker Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-pick-stand-speaker.md) - [Whimsically Designed Speaker Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-for-ara-fs1-and-fs2.md) - [Nature-Inspired Multifunctional Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moss-echo.md) - [Mushroom-Core Audio Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mycoaudio.md) - [Edgy Speaker Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brutalist-speaker.md) - [Naturalistic Outdoor Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/focal-littora-200-od-stone-8.md) - [Landmark-Resembling Floor Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floor-standing-wireless.md) - [Headphone-Holding Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cornucopia-speaker.md) - [Sculptural Sound Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acoustic-sculpture-speaker.md)
