# Glowing Topiary Photography Tree of Life in Island by Lee Jeong Lok is Brightly Fantastical By Meghan Young | Published 2013-12-17 | Fashion Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-of-life-in-island References: [beautifuldecay](http://beautifuldecay.com/2013/12/16/lee-jeong-loks-glowing-tree-series-gives-palpable-sense-spirituality/) & [leejeonglok](http://www.leejeonglok.com/) The Tree of Life in Island photo series appears to take place in some kind of fantastical land. As though full of fairies, perhaps the photographer has taken a trip to Neverland. A continuation of this 2010 series 'Tree of Life,' it appears that he simply set foot on a [magical island](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-island) full of rocky shores, still waters and [mysterious forests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iside-home). Yet what makes the Tree of Life in Island photo series stand out from similar landscape captures are the trees set in the center of each image. Glowing with a million different colored 'leaves,' they becomes spiritually-emotive scenes. The images were captured by Korean artist Lee Jeong Lok, who used installation, sets, and digital manipulation to construct the striking surroundings. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 55% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Fashion](https://www.trendhunter.com/fashion) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/stylephotography) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Fantastical Photography:** Opportunity to explore how photographers can create surreal and immersive experiences through digital manipulation and installation. - **Nature-inspired Art Installations:** Opportunity to create unique art installations using natural materials and elements to evoke spiritual and emotional reactions from viewers. - **Magical Landscapes:** Opportunity to design and create immersive landscapes that transport people into fantastical worlds. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Photography:** Photography professionals can explore new ways to create immersive and surreal experiences through digital manipulation and installation. - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can incorporate natural materials and elements to create emotionally impactful installations. - **Travel and Tourism:** Travel and tourism industries can offer immersive experiences by creating magical landscapes for visitors to explore. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Tree Branch-Formed Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/celestial-attraction.md) - [Solar-Powered Floral Garden Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-tree-house.md) - [Biophilic Garden Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-organism-lights.md) - [Resin Gravity Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-tree.md) - [Light Garden Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/imaginarium360.md) - [Tree-Integrated Mysterious Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-mural.md) - [Illuminated Christmas Tree Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/all-lit-up.md) - [Island-Inspired Wooden Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/island-table.md) - [Pixelated Photographed Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/southern-trees.md)
