# Life-Saving Timber Installments Tree Lungs by Loop.pH is a Mesmerizing Nature Art Piece By Nikki Taylor | Published 2012-10-30 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tree-lungs References: [inspir3d.net](http://inspir3d.net/2012/10/24/tree-lungs-by-loop-ph/) & [fantastic2012](http://www.fantastic2012.com/en/) High in the branches of forest timbers lies interlinking wires strung together like a web to form the outline of an anatomical body part known as Tree Lungs. The [glowing light installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapso) is part of the Fantastic 2012 art festival and designed by London's Loop.pH. The structures are spread out across the various trees in Lille and decorate the plants while absorbing the energy from the sun during the day. At night time, they become ethereal and illuminated, connecting to the limbs of the branches. They appear as if they are actually a life source to the tall, leafy structures, breathing beautiful sustainability into them. Tree Lungs will proudly be on display for the Fantastic 2012 art festival until the New Year. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Interactive Light Installations:** The mesmerizing nature art piece Tree Lungs demonstrates the trend of interactive light installations that enhance the visual appeal of outdoor spaces. - **Sustainable Art:** Tree Lungs showcases the trend of sustainable art that combines creativity and environmental consciousness to create visually stunning and eco-friendly pieces. - **Nature-inspired Design:** The Tree Lungs art installation exemplifies the trend of nature-inspired design that celebrates the beauty of the natural world and integrates it into urban environments. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can focus on creating more interactive light installations like Tree Lungs to captivate and engage audiences in both indoor and outdoor spaces. - **Environmental Sustainability:** The environmental sustainability industry can explore collaborations with artists and designers to promote sustainability through visually impactful art installations like Tree Lungs. - **Urban Planning and Architecture:** The urban planning and architecture industry can incorporate nature-inspired design elements, such as the Tree Lungs art installation, to create harmonious and visually appealing urban landscapes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Air-Purifying Tree Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treeone.md) - [Resin Gravity Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-tree.md) - [Nature-Inspired Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humannature-1.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Sculptural Biomaterial Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wevolve-labs.md) - [Neon Illuminated Christmas Trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fluorescence.md) - [Climate-Controlled Chamber Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spruce-time.md) - [Tree Branch-Formed Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/celestial-attraction.md) - [Biophilic Garden Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-organism-lights.md)
