The idea of a [double-sided transparent smartphone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/huawei-mate-x7) brings up a whole new slew of possibilities for the do-it-all devices. Since their Android-enabled prototype supports a touch interface on both sides of the device, skilled users could potentially make use of a whole bunch of applications without obscuring their view of the screen. Imagine taking pictures or sending text messages without your pesky fingers getting in the way all the time. Docomo demonstrated a Rubik's Cube app that really shows the potential possibilities of its double-sided transparent touchscreens. With smartphone and touchscreen technology moving at a pace faster than the Flash on a caffeine rush, this is one idea that just might stick in future devices. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 35% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Double-sided Touchscreens:** The development of double-sided touchscreens opens up new opportunities for seamless user experiences and innovative applications. - **Transparent Displays:** Transparent displays have the potential to revolutionize the way we interact with devices by providing unobstructed views and enhancing user engagement. - **Multi-functional Smartphones:** The integration of transparent touchscreens in smartphones can enable new functionalities and user interactions, paving the way for versatile and immersive experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Consumer Electronics:** The consumer electronics industry can leverage double-sided touchscreens and transparent displays to create visually appealing, interactive products that enhance user experiences. - **Mobile Technology:** In the mobile technology industry, the adoption of double-sided touchscreens can drive innovation in mobile devices, offering users novel ways of interacting with their smartphones and tablets. - **Gaming and Entertainment:** The gaming and entertainment industry can explore the potential of transparent touchscreens to create immersive gaming experiences and interactive content that blurs the line between reality and virtuality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wrap-Around Display Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motorolas-wraparound.md) - [Dual-Display Smartphone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iphone-vision.md) - [Dual-Screen Mobile Phones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dual-screen-phones.md) - [Transparent Design Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-1-concept.md) - [Productive Dual-Display Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oppo-find-n2-flip.md) - [Transparent Aluminum Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-2-concept.md) - [Subtle Secondary Display Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sphone-concept.md) - [Tri-Folding Smartphone Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tecno-phantom-ultimate-2.md) - [Deluxe Dual-Screen Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-pixel-fold.md)
