# Transparent Touchscreen Phones The LG GD-900 Is Clear Innovation At Its Finest By Hayley Grieve | Published 2009-02-23 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-touch-screens-lg-phone-is-clear-innovation References: [in.ibtimes](http://in.ibtimes.com/articles/20090222/gd900-mobile-world-congress-transparent-design.htm) & [lge](http://www.lge.com/about/press_release/detail/21102.jhtml) The folks at the World Mobile Conference in Barcelona this weekend caught word of what’s being claimed as the world’s first [transparent touchscreen phone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clearcam). The [LG](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-signature-oled-t) GD-900 will have a clear slide-out keyboard with glow feature, but that’s about the only info being released now about the phone’s features at this point. All we know is the LG GD-900 phone will come out in Q2 2009, but no word yet on its price tag. From the photos, it appears that not the entire phone (including screen) is transparent, but it is bound to draw attention as the world of touchscreen technology grows wildly in years to come. I wonder if [Apple](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-clear-series) is at the drawing board for their version as we speak! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Transparent Touchscreen Phones:** A trend towards transparent touchscreen phones is emerging, providing opportunities for manufacturers to innovate and differentiate their products. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Mobile Phones:** The mobile phone industry is being disrupted by the development of transparent touchscreen phones, opening up new possibilities for design and user experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Transparent Design Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-1-concept.md) - [Wireless Transparent Oled TVs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-signature-oled-t.md) - [Transparent LED-Accented Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-2.md) - [Invisible Vehicle Antennas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-antenna.md) - [Transparent OLED Premium Televisions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/signature-oled-t-smart-tv.md) - [Transparent Aluminum Smartphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-2-concept.md) - [Visible Component Smartphone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-phone-1.md) - [Transparent OLED Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lg-display-transparent-oled.md) - [Transparent 4K Computer Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/visual-instruments-phantom.md)
