# See-Through Computer Screens This Transparent Desktop Would Visually Declutter Your Desktop By Amelia Roblin | Published 2015-05-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transparent-desktop References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2015/05/01/the-disappearing-screen-is-here/) & [numberone.world](http://www.numberone.world/htd-01-concept/) Workstations are generally topped with computers these days, and thanks to the cutting-edge design of this transparent desktop, even bulky gadgets will not bog down a tidy office environment. The concept for the HTD-01 clear screen was developed by Number One with M2Slabs, offering consumers the ultimate in clean electronic design. A completely see-through sheet of acrylic material would be virtually invisible when the machine is off. Observers may only discern the compact box that constitutes the powerful base of the desktop computer. When turned on, the HTD-01 monitor would light up with a holographic-like display, presenting high definition graphics on an ultra-slim surface. I can see this computer companies like [Apple](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-mac-mini-concept) jumping at the idea of manufacturing a transparent desktop like this. The company is already perfecting the streamlining of the monitor and the system unit. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Transparent Desktops:** The transparent desktop trend presents an opportunity for computer companies to create visually appealing and clutter-free workstations. - **Holographic-like Displays:** The development of holographic-like displays opens up possibilities for immersive and high-definition visual experiences across various industries. - **Clean Electronic Design:** The emphasis on clean electronic design in the HTD-01 transparent desktop creates opportunities for companies to prioritize aesthetics and minimalism in their products. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Computer Hardware:** The transparent desktop trend has the potential to disrupt the computer hardware industry by introducing innovative and visually appealing workstations. - **Consumer Electronics:** The use of holographic-like displays in consumer electronics can disrupt the industry by providing immersive and high-definition visual experiences for users. - **Office Furniture:** The demand for clean electronic design in workstations can disrupt the office furniture industry by driving the need for aesthetically pleasing and minimalist designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Transparent Crystalline Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lenovo-project-crystal.md) - [Transparency-Focused Laptop Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nothing-book-1-concept.md) - [Elegant Working Desk Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mindset-builtin-computer-desk.md) - [OLED Screen-Equipped Smart Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumina-desk.md) - [Sleekly Conceptualized All-in-One PCs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ws1-workstation.md) - [Crystalline Tech Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-clear-series.md) - [Fully Transparent OLED Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/veeo-holodeck-t55.md) - [Augmented Reality Projection Laptops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacetop.md) - [Flexible Removable Display Monitors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flux-multimonitor.md)
