# Transformer Armchairs "Ooch" Lets You Customize Its Size and Shape By Alexandra Choli | Published 2009-02-15 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transformer-armchairs-ooch-unwraps-to-the-height-and-shape-of-your-choice References: [theworldsbestever](http://theworldsbestever.com/2009/02/09/stack-your-pad) & [sanniadesign](http://www.sanniadesign.com/Portfolio/OOCH) For those keen on variety and choice, "Ooch" is a perfect addition to their living room. Smooth design and rearrangable cushioning is the answer to flexibility in the creative mind of Sam Sannia. The comfy armchair introduces an intriguing concept in seating, featuring a solid stylish framework which embraces a stack of cushions. The cushions can be removed or restructured to even form a single bed. All that is provided that you have no kids playing around, or you will probably be left with the not-so-relaxing skeleton. Then you'd have to rename the "Ooch" the "Aouch!" ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 79% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Customizable Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a customizable furniture line that allows consumers to personalize the size and shape of their furniture. - **Modular Seating:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a modular seating system that allows users to rearrange cushions for different configurations and uses. - **Multi-functional Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design multi-functional furniture pieces that can transform from an armchair to a bed, catering to small living spaces and flexible lifestyles. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Implement advanced manufacturing techniques and technologies to produce customizable and modular furniture at scale. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Integrate customizable and modular furniture solutions into interior design services, offering clients unique and personalized living spaces. - **E-commerce Retail:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Build an e-commerce platform specializing in customizable and multi-functional furniture, providing consumers with convenience and choice. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Comforting Adaptable Sofa Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/baby-bird-reincarnation-3way-sofa-bed.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Chunky Cylindrical Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/umi-armchair.md) - [Cozy Oversized Cushion Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/perron-pillo-lounge-chair.md) - [Shapeshifting Office-Ready Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/egoitaliano-smirk.md) - [Comfort-Focused Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accent-chair.md) - [Versatile Modular Couches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/transformer-couch-20.md) - [Interchangeable Cushion Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morfius-modular-furniture.md) - [Adventurous Versatile Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flipster-seat.md)
