Not only will your eyes be treated to a visual feast, but the video is played over a stellar rock track that hammers away at you the way a Queens of the Stone Age song does. The technique used to make this 'Train Logger' video is called strata-cut, which involves cutting away at a clay log while taking photographs of each cut and then compiling all of the snapshots together into a [fluid animation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tooncrafter-ai). It's very similar to [stop-motion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/revivifyai). The 'Train Logger' video was made by Nicos Livesey. **Implications** - Consumers enjoy animations with an unrefined human-like quality to them because they've grown tired of polished computer-generated graphics that have saturated media outlets. Corporations looking to evoke personable relationships with consumers may consider utilizing analog animations for promotional campaigns. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 10% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Psychedelic Animations:** Companies can explore using psychedelic-style animations to appeal to consumers who are tired of polished computer-generated graphics. - **Strata-cut Technique:** The strata-cut technique used in 'Train Logger' video can inspire new ways to create fluid animations and visually stunning effects in marketing materials. - **Analog Animations:** Corporations can consider utilizing analog animations for promotional campaigns and to evoke personable relationships with consumers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry can utilize psychedelic-style animations in film, television, and video game promotions to appeal to audiences who appreciate unique visuals. - **Marketing:** Marketing companies can explore the use of the strata-cut technique to create visually stunning and memorable content for brand promotions. - **Art and Design:** Artists and designers can experiment with analog animation techniques like strata-cut to create unique and visually stunning works of art. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Quirky AI Holiday Projects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-very-ai-yule-log.md) - [Revived Retro Animations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stranger-things-animated-series.md) - [Graphic Fashion Animation Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/superflat-animation.md) - [Dynamic Video Backdrops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fluidmotion.md) - [Intuitive Animation Editors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mind-visuals.md) - [3D-Printed Flip Books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stl-sculptures.md) - [Real-Time Adaptive Audio Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interrail.md) - [Whimsical AI Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clayify.md) - [Layered Online Content Reports](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/creative-maximalism.md)
