Trader Joe's Ponzu Sauce has just hit store shelves and is already bound to become a pantry staple.

For those unfamiliar, ponzu sauce is a citrus-based Japanese condiment that's incredibly versatile. Trader Joe’s Ponzu Sauce is made in the style of shoyu ponzu, which means that the grocery store brand's version has a soy sauce base. The brand's supplier then adds a bit of sugar and some tart yuzu juice to achieve a perfect balance of flavors. The result is a sweet, savory, and citrusy sauce that is perfect for seasoning fish for poke and sashimi, but also for pairing with gyoza, tempura, and other crispy appetizers. Trader Joe's even suggests adding it to homemade salad dressings for a Japanese-inspired twist.
