# Animal Carcass-Shaped Towels Zoë Ikin’s Towel Animals Take the Shape of an Uncooked Chi By Laura McQuarrie | Published 2013-07-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/towel-animals References: [lustik.tumblr](http://lustik.tumblr.com/post/54654054699/tea-towel-chicken-zoe-ikin-via-present-correct) & [zoeikin](http://www.zoeikin.com/projects/type/3d/) Towel animals have graced many hotel rooms, but nothing quite like this one. It would be quite alarming to spot one of Zoë Ikin's 'Tea Towel Chickens' on a freshly made bed. Thankfully, these were items exclusively designed by Ikin as take-home gifts for attendees of the [Fisher & Paykel](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eurocucina-2026) sales conference. The unique gift was neatly folded into a [chicken shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heir-and-a-spare) and packaged in plastic wrap, as if it had just been purchased fresh from the grocery store. Although odd, it is certain that recipients have never been given a tea towel that takes on the shape of a chicken before. The tea towel is a light shade of pink -- like uncooked chicken flesh -- and printed with instructions to teach the user how to fold and twist the towel into the shape of a chicken. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Towel Animal Merchandise:** Opportunity to create unique and playful towel animal-themed merchandise for hotels and conferences. - **Unconventional Packaging:** Innovative packaging designs that mimic retail products can differentiate gifts and create memorable experiences. - **Instructional Tea Towels:** Tea towels with printed instructions for folding and twisting could create unique kitchen accessories. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Hospitality:** Hotels can offer guests towel animal merchandise as exclusive souvenirs or gifts. - **Packaging:** Companies can specialize in creating unique and creative packaging designs for various products. - **Kitchenware:** Kitchenware brands can design and produce instructional tea towels as functional and decorative pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artful Graphic Beach Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artist-terry-beach-towel.md) - [Odor-Free Bath Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/k-25.md) - [Quick-Absorbing Textural Bath Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bath-towel-reloaded.md) - [Sculptural Towel Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tangled-joe.md) - [Waffle-Woven Bamboo Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casacru-bamboo-towels.md) - [Recycled Dish Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/recycled-dish-towels.md) - [Towel-Resembling Luxe Skirts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/towel-skirt.md) - [Two-In-One Plush Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cute-animal-pillow-with-blanket.md) - [High-Performance Reversible Towels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/everlayer-1.md)
