# Poignant Street Art This Graffiti Artist Captures Uniquely Touching Images in His Work By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-06-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touching-images References: [designyoutrust](http://designyoutrust.com/2016/06/attractive-giant-stencil-portraits-by-the-portuguese-street-artist-daniel-eime/) & [danieleime](http://www.danieleime.com/) The touching images created by Portuguese graffiti artist Daniel Eime are making their "canvases" much more noteworthy. While most street art features colorful and graphic illustrations while making blatant statements about the state of the world in one way or another, these touching images are intricate, detailed and slightly more nuanced than most. Artist Daniel Eime creates large [stencil portraits on buildings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glass-portraits) -- often with cutouts over the portraits' eyes and mouths. These portraits are mainly of older adults and their poignant gazes make the art more mysterious than the glaring illustrations of many street artists around the world. The gazes captured in these images embody an air of secrecy and poignancy and are unlike any common themes found in the practice of graffiti. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Graffiti](https://www.trendhunter.com/graffiti) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Poignant-graffiti-art:** Creating and displaying street/graffiti art that captures poignant and touching moments can disrupt the traditional expectations of the genre. - **Intricate-stencil-portraits:** Making detailed stencil portraits of older adults with cutouts over the eyes and mouth can add a mysterious element to street art and prompt discussion on age and community. - **Nuanced-street-art:** Nuanced street art, with deeper meaning and subtle interpretations of the state of the world, can revolutionize the genre. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Street-art:** The street art industry can benefit from artists who create work with more nuanced perspectives and stimulating discussions. - **Public-art:** Public art spaces and exhibitions can showcase poignant-graffiti art providing thought-provoking and emotional experiences to their viewers. - **Senior-care:** Senior care industry can incorporate art and graffiti to break negative stereotypes associated with aging. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Statement Street Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/surreal-street-art-1.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Evolved Vibrant Graffiti Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jan-kalb.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Miniature Artful Hip-Hop Landmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/danny-cortes.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Digital Graffiti NFTs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/graffiti-wall-collection.md) - [Digital City-Inspired Art Works](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grand-central-station.md)
