Marks did not have to look far from inspiration as he found it right on his desk -- he recalls vintage torpedo levels in crafting his latest project. The Torpedo Sconce light series has a [long bronze structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/prose-light) that is finished with a gunmetal steel end cap as well as a hang bar to connect it all together, the same as traditional woodwork conjunction techniques. The pieces are illuminated with [LED lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/printed-circuit) from the front perforations and the side slots as well. The back of the wall mounted lights are diffused to give off a soft illuminating reflection on the wall. Jacob Marks' Torpedo Sconce lights are constructed in three different finishes, with a choice of either 'Gunmetal Patinized,' 'Dark Rubbed Bronze,' or 'Natural Bronze.' ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 38% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Vintage-inspired Lighting:** Opportunity for creating lighting designs that draw inspiration from vintage objects and incorporate modern technology like LED lights. - **Industrial-inspired Design:** Potential for creating design pieces that incorporate industrial elements, such as the use of bronze and gunmetal steel, to give a unique and rugged aesthetic. - **Diffused Backlighting:** Possibility for developing lighting solutions that utilize diffuse illumination to create a soft and ambient reflection on walls. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for designers and manufacturers to create unique and stylish lighting options for residential spaces. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Potential for incorporating industrial-inspired elements, like bronze and steel, into furniture design to create distinctive and functional pieces. - **Lighting Technology:** Opportunity for innovation in LED lighting technology to create energy-efficient and customizable lighting solutions with unique designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Archetypal Conical Light Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragile-lamp.md) - [Brutalist-Inspired Lighting Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vector-series.md) - [Slab-Structural Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tera-sconce.md) - [Railway-Inspired Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/insulator-lighting.md) - [Screw-Inspired Industrial Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/set-table-lamp.md) - [Whimsical Joint Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/port-collection.md) - [Childhood-Inspired Magnetic Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbe.md) - [Literature-Inspired Sculptural Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-table-lamp.md) - [Geometric-Shaped Wall Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/impulse-wall-light.md)
