Dubbed 'Silent Geography,' it is currently on display at the Mixed Greens gallery in New York. The torn paper garden was created by Scott Hazard, an artist based in North Carolina. Mixed Greens writes, "Yet here the wilderness is not exactly that of nature but rather the din of flowing information, language, and symbol that surrounds most urban-dwellers on a daily basis. Into this flow Hazard creates a momentary pause, an immersive space of rest in which language is once again ordered and reduced to its simplest designative function." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Fabricated Nature:** There is a trend of artists creating artificial installations that depict natural landscapes, providing an immersive experience. - **Mixed Media Art:** Artists are combining different materials, such as torn paper, to create unique and visually captivating installations. - **Immersive Spaces:** There is a growing trend of creating immersive spaces where individuals can escape the noise of everyday life and find tranquility. ### Where This Applies - **Art and Design:** The art and design industry can explore the use of various materials and techniques to create innovative and thought-provoking installations. - **Gallery and Exhibition:** Galleries and exhibition spaces can attract visitors by showcasing interactive and immersive installations that provide a unique experience. - **Wellness and Retreats:** The wellness industry can incorporate immersive spaces and installations to create serene environments for relaxation and rejuvenation. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Nature-Inspired Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humannature-1.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Outdoor Floral Sculpture Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptures-at-kew-gardens.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Sculptural Paper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti.md) - [Interactive Mountain Oracles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whispering-mountains.md) - [Nature-Inspired Artful Garden Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/henderson-art-garden.md) - [Maze-Like Salt Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-path-of-memories.md) - [Seasonal Interactive Fashion Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washi-paper.md)
