The shape of the lightbulb becomes an embodiment of the water as it swells and expands like a water balloon. Basing the design on the theme of light, the due crafted the material and glass with the help of a glass artist to transform the recycled fluorescent light bulbs into beautiful recreations of a lighting art installment. The result is a beautifully surreal installment where each bulb is illuminated using LED lights and the [glass serves as a magnifying glass](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cairn-lamp) to enlarge the suspended bubbles of air and to illuminate the swollen contours of the glass. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 64% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Surreal Lighting:** Designers and architects can disrupt the lighting industry by creating lighting installations that resemble every-day objects. - **Sustainable Design:** LED lights and recycled materials can lead to a disruptive innovation in the lighting industry, creating eco-friendly lighting solutions. - **Glass Art Installations:** Glass artists and designers can collaborate to create unique lighting installations that showcase the beauty of glass and its ability to diffuse light. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Innovative lighting designs can revolutionize the interior design industry and create unique and memorable spaces. - **Lighting Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can embrace sustainable and eco-friendly practices to stay competitive in the lighting industry. - **Glass Manufacturing:** Glass manufacturers can collaborate with designers to create unique pieces that challenge traditional uses of glass and expand its possibilities in various industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Chic Saucer-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-in-tight-light-fixture.md) - [Air Balloon-Inspired Lamp Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-balloon-lamp.md) - [Inflatable Mood Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blow-lamp.md) - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Bulbous Whimsical Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic.md) - [Physics-Based Artful Light Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aura-collection-1.md) - [Inflatable Colorful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/squeeze-inflatable-lamp.md)
