The AA Stool is sold in [sets of two](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/same-same), and is made from premium Canadian red cedar. The remarkable thing about these stools is how versatile they are. Each leg of the stool is cut at a slight angle so that the stools can fit together. When the stools are placed together they make a [longer bench-style seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torii). The stools can also be laid flat. This makes them [easy to store](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/walle-stool), and makes them take up minimal space. These great quality stools combine simple design with awesome functionality. They are perfect for extra seating in your home --even more so if your home doesn't usually have loads of space. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 90% | Activity: 78% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Modular Seating:** The Torafu Architects AA Stool's ability to fit together and create bench-style seating showcases a trend towards modular furniture design. - **Space-saving Furniture:** The AA Stool's ability to be laid flat for storage reflects a trend in the furniture industry towards creating space-saving solutions for small living spaces. - **Versatile Design:** The AA Stool's versatility in transforming from individual stools to a bench highlights a trend of creating multi-purpose furniture that can adapt to different needs. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Design:** The Torafu Architects AA Stool's innovative design opens up opportunities for furniture designers to create more modular and versatile pieces. - **Interior Design:** The space-saving functionality of the AA Stool provides opportunities for interior designers to optimize seating arrangements in small spaces without sacrificing style. - **Home Décor:** The AA Stool's simple yet functional design offers opportunities for home décor retailers to provide customers with stylish, versatile seating options that maximize space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [DIY Flatpack Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/that-stool.md) - [Stool-Inspired Design Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hackability-of-the-stool.md) - [Flat-Packed Wooden Stool](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-stool-concept.md) - [Interlocking Wooden Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tie-stool.md) - [Colorful Dual-Purpose Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/s1-stool.md) - [Ultra-Chic Minimalist Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-seating-design.md) - [Intuitive Entryway Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-front-stool.md) - [Multifaceted Geometric Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stackable-stools.md) - [East-Meets-West-Inspired Layered Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cornice.md)
