These vibrant installations are full of hundreds of strings of light that have been placed on the stairs, couches, tables and beds. Janna Parviainen is a painter of urban landscapes and light painting. To create his light installations he manipulates photos using a variety of illuminating sources during long exposure times. All of his photos come directly from the camera, and the exposure times range from a few seconds to a few hours. Light paintings alter reality through the use of light toys, flash lights and colored strobes. Janna uses skeleton and ghostly light creatures in his photos to create more compassionate photos. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 88% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Topographical Light Paintings:** Exploring the use of light to create vibrant and immersive installations. - **Neon Installations:** Embracing neon lights as a medium for artistic expression and ambiance. - **Urban Landscapes:** Incorporating urban environments as the backdrop for light-based artwork. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Design:** Opportunity to showcase innovative light-based techniques in the art world. - **Interior Design:** Integrating neon installations to create unique and vibrant living spaces. - **Photography:** Exploring new ways to use light painting techniques to capture mesmerizing images. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Unique Interactive Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-aurora.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Immersive Light Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Illuminated Curtained Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/making-the-invisible-visible.md) - [Suspended Lighting Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-lighting-installation.md) - [Neon Illuminated Christmas Trees](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fluorescence.md) - [Stunningly Intricate Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shapes-of-light.md) - [Immersive Light Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spencer-finch.md) - [Neon Illuminated Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/love-and-unity.md)
