Forget the fancy schmancy [page markers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easymark1) with frills and thrills that really do nothing to enhance your reading experience. The Tongue Bookmark is a wedge of wood that slips in neatly to keep your page, as though it was meant to be part of your book from day one. Designed by [Studio Ve](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-bookshelf), the Tongue Bookmark is crafted out of beech wood. Priced at $12, it could make a great stocking stuffer or a little thoughtful gift for an avid reader friend. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 42% | Activity: 33% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Book Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop simple and functional book accessories that enhance the reading experience without unnecessary frills. - **Natural Material Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create environmentally-friendly and aesthetically pleasing products using natural materials, appealing to the growing market of eco-conscious consumers. - **Affordable Luxury Gifts:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Design affordable yet stylish gift items that provide a sense of luxury, catering to the demand for thoughtful and unique presents. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Book Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Revolutionize the book accessories industry by offering simple and elegant products that add value to the reading experience. - **Eco-friendly Products:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Challenge the traditional product manufacturing methods by creating sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives in various industries. - **Gift and Novelty Items:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Disrupt the gift market with affordable luxury items that combine style and practicality, appealing to consumers seeking unique and impressive presents. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Reading Book Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe.md) - [Cheekily Creative Bookmarks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/illustrated-bookmarks.md) - [Personality-Forward Bookmark Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humdrum-paper.md) - [Compact Functional Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bookmarker-table.md) - [Minimally Engineered Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/firm-book-end.md) - [Versatile Book Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-x-moebe-book-stand.md) - [Minimalist Greenery Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-propagation-bookend.md) - [Personality-Enhancing Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ordo-book.md) - [Landscape-Inspired Bookends](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waves-and-sun-bookends.md)
