# Pod Lamp Decor Tom Dixon Creates Industrial-Inspired Lighting By Rachel | Published 2009-07-18 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tom-dixon References: [cubeme](http://cubeme.com/blog/2009/07/16/fluoro-lightings-by-tom-dixon/) & [cubeme](http://cubeme.com/blog/?s=tom) Tom Dixon took inspiration from industrial factories for his latest design. The Fluoro design comes as either a [pendant lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nova-pendant-light) or as a [floor lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alma-light-totem-i). Both designs are bright orange, continuing the industrial theme (safety color). The design by Tom Dixon is made to hang in groups rather than individually and would create a cool pod design in the corner of a room; they look like [balloons all bunched together](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/big-glow-light), which is always fun! Take a look at the design by Tom Dixon above. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.9/10 - Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Industrial-inspired Lighting:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the lighting industry by incorporating industrial aesthetics into designs. - **Group Hanging Designs:** Opportunity to disrupt traditional lighting arrangements by creating designs that are meant to be hung in groups instead of individually. - **Pod Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to create unique lighting arrangements that resemble bunched balloons in a room corner. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the lighting industry by incorporating industrial-inspired designs. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to disrupt traditional interior design by incorporating unique lighting arrangements that resemble bunched balloons. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to create unique lighting designs that add a playful touch to the home decor industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dazzling Polyhedral Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puff-pendant-lights.md) - [Wireless Lamp Renditions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tom-dixon-portable.md) - [Melt-Resembling Portable Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/melt-light.md) - [Plant Pod-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nature-inspired-pendant-light.md) - [Contemporary Modular Floor Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/point-floor-lamp.md) - [Organically Fluid Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-collection.md) - [Structural Two-Part Lighting Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luno-lamp.md) - [Rechargeable Portable Torch Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piton-portable-lamp.md) - [Outlet-Equipped Workstation Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avro-pendant-lamp.md)
